3-Floor House Overlooking Canteras Park near Jalatlaco: Casa Azul

Casa Azul is a modern built house with beautiful splashes of colonial style. It overlooks Parque Canteras a short walking distance from the thriving Jalatlaco neighborhood. The 3 floor house is on a gated alley, and the rental includes the gate key to access the house by car, as well as one parking spot. It has 2 bedrooms, plus 1 full bath and 2 half baths decorated with talavera tiles.

Casa Azul is 15 minutes walking to Jalatlaco, 20 minutes walking to the Oaxaca Lending Library, and 30-40 minutes walking to the Zocolo. It’s near bus lines and the Las Flores market as well.

The first floor is open with its colonial style and Mexican art enhanced by the ample natural lighting. There is a large living room with comfortable furniture. The kitchen has modern features including a big refrigerator, large microwave convection oven, stove top with induction heating elements, and a dishwashing machine operated with filtered city water. The dining room has a wooden table with chairs and service for 6. There’s a half bath on the first floor.

A wide, sturdy, wooden spiral staircase leads up to the second and third floors, and the central stair shaft keeps the entire house well ventilated and fresh.

The second floor has the sleeping areas. There is a master bedroom with a king size bed and a large closet area built with lots of wooden shelving. The guest bedroom has 2 single beds. The bedrooms have overhead fans. And the full bath is on the second floor.

The third floor has a terrace with a panoramic view over Parque Canteras from the west side. It’s furnished with a dining table and 6 bar stools. It also includes a water feature and small refrigerator. There is a half bath off the terrace. On the opposite side of the third floor is a laundry area, bar-b-que, and jacuzzi tub.

The 135 square meter (1,450 sq. ft.) rental includes high speed internet, city water, electricity, and regular cleaning. There is no gas used whatsoever in the house. The rental is furnished as shown in the images below. Not shown are the linens, dishes, cookware, silverware, and small appliances.
