The interior furnishings are largely hand crafted from boards recovered from churches in Puebla and San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. The flooring has extensive octagonal tiles from local artisans in the Volcanes neighborhood of Oaxaca City. All the curtains are from artisans in the popular Xochimilco neighborhood. More examples include shrimp fishing equipment from the Istmo region and lamps from Tulum worked in to the interior design.

It’s profoundly authentic, with extreme attention to detail put into the flawless installation. The interior was created by the current Mexican owner with help from a French interior designer.

The house is located between San Sebastián Tutla and San Andrés Huayapam, about 20 mins from the Oaxaxa el centro. It’s part of a small community of 5 houses on a quiet, gated private drive. The community has its own well and cistern which provide water to the houses, as well as its own septic system. There is a very large common yard space (397 m2) running behind the houses which is great for pets and family recreation.

The first floor has the kitchen, dining room, living room, half bath, and laundry room. These interior spaces wrap around a tranquil, central indoor garden. There’s also parking for 2 cars in front of the house, inside the gate from street.

The second floor has a master bedroom and another bedroom. The third bedroom is located on the third floor, along with a terrace. Each bedroom has a closet and its own full bath.
